What is Carbide?
Carbide is the name of our company, but it is also the name of a sintered metal which is the main component of our tools. The metal is also known as tungsten, wolfram carbide or hard metal. The abrasive consists of grains of carbide of a particular size depending on the purpose which are welded onto a steel base.

These small metallic grains are the abrasive medium, making carbide extremely durable compared to sandpaper.graph of life rate of tool grits

The test results to the right show that, used on a particular surface, sandpaper lasts 3 minutes, carbide coating lasts 8 hours - or 160 times longer than sandpaper!

Our tools are available in Grit 3 to 240, which means they can meet virtually all your sanding, grinding and surface treatment needs. .
